Vision benefits are increasingly becoming a higher visibility healthcare benefit, which can be administered on a self-insured or fully-insured basis, and as an employer-sponsored or voluntary benefit. Effective eye care can be the key to early detection of disease. 
Through a stringent RFP process, the Council recognized that there are two types of service models for delivering vision benefits. As a result, Health Action Council Ohio procured best-in-class programs from both EyeMed Vision Care and Vision Service Plan (VSP), enabling more HAC members the opportunity to save on pricing. Each vendor has strengths, and both have loyal customers. |
